Suicide and Safety Planning Training – CEU Event

Virtual Continuing Education for Professionals: Suicide and Safety Planning Training

September 15, 2022

9 AM – 12 PM

Via Zoom

This event is open to all professionals in the health and human services field.

Suicide is a leading cause of preventable death worldwide. Safety planning is an essential intervention for individuals at risk of suicide. Mental health providers should have the knowledge and experience to create safety plans, engage with individuals at risk for suicide and any necessary support persons, and document and follow up on the safety plan. This training provides an in-depth look at the evidence-based approaches to identifying a client who is suicidal, implementing tools available to adequately assess their risk, and developing a safety plan with the client.

Participants will learn:

  • How to assess whether a client is suicidal and if so, their level of risk, by using evidence-based screening tools
  • How to identify when a safety plan is needed
  • How to help a patient construct a safety plan

Suitable for mental health professionals, social workers, professional counselors, case managers, service coordinators, and other behavioral health service providers.

Cost: $50 for 3 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s)
