Volunteer for the 2019 Homeless Point-in-Time (PIT) Count
EveryMind’s Homeless Outreach team is partnering with Montgomery County to complete the Up-County Point-in-Time (PIT) Homeless Count. This one night event on January 23 into 24, 2019 is quickly approaching and we need 40+ volunteers to make it successful!
Volunteers are provided refreshments while they receive training on how to conduct the PIT survey. Immediately following the training, teams of 2-3 people, each with a trained leader, canvass the community, usually between the hours of 11 p.m. – 4 a.m., to connect with and count our homeless neighbors.
Many volunteers return year after year because the PIT provides the opportunity to engage with some of our community’s most vulnerable members and the results of the count help determine the level of services the County needs to provide to support them.
Training will be provided at two locations, Rockville and Silver Spring, MD, beginning at 9:00 p.m.
